Objectives:

1.      Provide individualized support to students at all levels of proficiency to improve their writing skills.

2.      Offer workshops to assist students in understanding and mastering various aspects of the writing process.

3.      Foster a culture of collaboration and peer-to-peer learning through group activities and writing communities.

4.      Promote critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication through writing.

Services Offered:

One-on-One Consultations: In One-on-One consultations lecturers will provide personalized feedback and guidance on students' writing assignments, addressing issues such as organization, clarity, grammar, and style.

Group Consultations: Group consultations provide students with the opportunity to engage in collaborative learning and peer feedback under the guidance of skilled writing tutors. In these sessions, small groups of students convene to discuss and share their writing projects, offering insights, suggestions, and support to one another.

Peer Support Sessions: Peer support sessions at Writing Centre provide students with the opportunity to receive assistance and guidance from their peers in enhancing their writing skills. During these sessions, students collaborate with fellow peers who offer constructive feedback, suggestions, and support in various aspects of writing, including structure, grammar, style, and content.

Procedural Details:

1.      The link for appointments will be permanently added to the website of SoFL and announcements of the possible peer-sessions and instructions will be conducted under this section.

2.      Students will choose time slots for their appointments. Individual appointments will take about 20 minutes in the library on the third floor. 

3.      The appointment form will include the following information: 

*Name / Surname

*Student No

*Programme

*Focus Area

4.      Students who cancel their appointments twice without any reason will not be given a new appointment in the same term. They can make appointments for the next term.
